Personalised 3D Printed Gifts

A personalised 3D printed gift is made for one person: their name, their team, their favourite character, in the colours they like. With multicolour printing the name and details come out in their own colours, so the gift is ready to wrap as soon as it arrives.

Upload your gift design for an instant price

Upload a 3MF file with the colours set, choose a filament for each colour, and the price appears straight away. Prices include GST, and shipping is a flat $15 per order anywhere in Australia, free on orders of $80 or more.

Gift ideas that suit multicolour printing

  • Name plaques and door signs for a child’s bedroom, with their name in bright raised letters. See 3D printed signs.
  • Name keyrings and bag tags, one for each child in the family, or for a whole sports team. See 3D printed keyrings.
  • Christmas ornaments with names or the year, in silk gold, silver and red.
  • Desk gifts for a teacher, a boss or a colleague: a name plate, a pen holder or a small figure in their team colours.
  • Gifts for dad, such as a workshop sign, a garage name plate or a figure of his favourite car.
  • Figures and characters from colour models you have designed or downloaded. See custom 3D printed figurines. Many popular multicolour models on MakerWorld and Printables are ready to print. See printing MakerWorld and Printables models.
  • Cake toppers with a name and age for birthdays, weddings and anniversaries. See the note on food below.
  • Coasters with a name, a logo or a pattern in two or three colours.

Make it personal

Most of these gifts start from a design that already exists, with the name or date changed. Many design programs, and the customisers on MakerWorld and Printables, let you type a name into a model and export a 3MF with the colours set. Our guide to setting up a multicolour 3MF shows how to check each colour is assigned before you upload.

Finishes that look like a gift

Gifts are printed in PLA, and the finish makes a big difference:

  • Silk PLA has a metallic sheen, lovely for names, ornaments and trophies. Gold, silver, brass, blue, purple and pink are available.
  • Matte PLA has a flat, soft look that hides print lines, good for modern signs and plaques.
  • Standard PLA comes in the widest range of bright colours, including rainbow.

You can mix finishes in one print, such as a silk gold name on a matte black plaque.

A note on food

PLA is not certified food-safe. A cake topper should stand on a skewer or a small base so the print itself does not sit in the icing, and should not be eaten from. For anything that touches food, ask us first.

Ordering in time

We normally start printing weekday orders the same day when the colours are in stock, and larger multicolour prints take longer to print. If the gift is for a particular day, order early and see delivery times for custom 3D prints. If you have a deadline, email quotes@3dprinting.zone before you order.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get an instant price for a personalised gift?

Yes. Upload a 3MF file with the colours set, as saved from Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer, and the quote shows a multicolour price straight away.

How many colours can a gift have?

Up to 8 colours in one print, from our standard, matte and silk PLA.

Can you add a name to a design for me?

The instant quote prints the file you upload, so add the name before you upload it. Many online models have a built-in customiser for names.

Are 3D printed cake toppers food-safe?

PLA is not certified food-safe. Stand the topper on a skewer or base so the print does not sit in the cake.

How long does a 3D printed gift take?

We normally start weekday orders the same day if the colours are in stock. Allow extra time for large multicolour prints and for shipping, especially before Christmas.

Do you ship gifts Australia-wide?

Yes. Shipping is a flat $15 per order anywhere in Australia, free on orders of $80 or more. We do not ship outside Australia.
