3D Printed Keyrings

A custom 3D printed keyring is one of the best things to print in colour. It is small, so it prints quickly, and a name or logo in a second colour makes it look finished rather than homemade. Print one for yourself, a set for a team, or a batch for an event.

Upload your keyring for an instant price

Upload a 3MF file with the colours set, pick a filament for each colour, and the price appears straight away. Set the quantity for as many as you need. Prices include GST, and shipping is a flat $15 per order anywhere in Australia, free on orders of $80 or more.

Keyrings people print

  • Name keyrings. A name in raised letters on a coloured tag, for kids’ school bags, lunch boxes and sports gear.
  • Logo keychains. Your business logo in its real colours, as a giveaway, a staff gift or merchandise. See 3D printed promotional products.
  • Bag tags and luggage tags. Easy to spot on a luggage carousel.
  • Team and club keyrings. A club badge or team colours, one for every player.
  • Event favours. Wedding, birthday and party keyrings with names or dates. More ideas in personalised 3D printed gifts.
  • Keyrings from your favourite models. Many of the most popular multicolour keyrings on MakerWorld and Printables download ready to print. See printing MakerWorld and Printables models.

Many at once

Keyrings are small, so one print can hold several. Put as many as fit on one plate in your file and they are printed together, which is usually cheaper per keyring than printing them one at a time. Or upload one keyring and set the quantity. For a hundred or more, see bulk quoting.

Designing a keyring that prints well

  • Include a hole or loop for the ring or chain, at least 4 mm across, with a solid border around it so it does not snap off.
  • Make the tag at least 3 mm thick. Thinner tags bend and break on a keyring.
  • Keep lettering bold. Strokes narrower than about 1 mm are hard to print cleanly. Raised letters 1 to 2 mm high read well.
  • Put the colours in layers. A tag with the name raised on top changes colour once, near the top, so it prints faster and costs less than a design with colours on every layer.

Our guide to setting up a multicolour 3MF shows how to give each part its colour in Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer.

Colours and finishes

Keyrings are printed in PLA. Choose from our standard PLA colours, including black, white, red, yellow, sky blue, pink and rainbow, plus matte and silk finishes. Silk gold, silver and brass are popular for names and logos because they catch the light.

PLA is tough enough for everyday keys. Like any plastic, it softens in strong heat, so do not leave a keyring on a car dashboard in summer.

How keyrings are priced

The price is the filament for each colour at its normal rate, including the small amount purged at each colour change, plus $4 an hour of print time, worked out by slicing your file. See multicolour 3D printing for the details.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get an instant price for custom keyrings?

Yes. Upload a 3MF file with the colours set and the quote shows a multicolour price straight away. Set the quantity for more than one.

How many colours can a keyring have?

Up to 8 colours in one print. Most keyrings look best with two or three.

Is it cheaper to print several keyrings together?

Usually, yes. Keyrings laid out together on one plate share the colour changes, so the price per keyring is lower than printing each one separately.

Is the metal ring included?

The print is the keyring tag itself. Design it with a hole or loop for your own ring or chain.

Can you put my business logo on a keychain?

Yes, if you have the logo as a 3D file with its colours set. The quote prices whatever is in the file.

Do you ship keyrings anywhere in Australia?

Yes. Shipping is a flat $15 per order anywhere in Australia (free on orders of $80 or more), however many keyrings are in it.
